DDU shipments (Delivered Duty Unpaid) is a term popularly used in global trade referring to the state under which a customer is entirely responsible for the safety of the shipments until they reach their respective destinations. They pay import duties and taxes related to the respective shipment.

Whereas, DDP shipments (Delivered Duty Paid) refer to the condition in which a shipper pays for the customs charges/duties for exporting the shipment to its respective destination.
We have partnered with courier companies like DHL and FedEx for our international operations and these charges are calculated as per their regulations.
Dimensional weight is a pricing strategy that determines how much room a package needs based on the item's weight. To calculate dimensional weight, the length, width, and height of a package are multiplied, using the longest point on each side. Then the cubic size of the package (in inches) is divided by the DIM divisor to get dimensional weight in pounds.
The maximum weight limit which can be shipped with Trackon is below 30 kg and the maximum dimension in the courier model is 120*60*45.
DHL and other international shipping companies periodically recycle shipment waybill numbers for operational reasons. Occasionally this results in information in our system for two shipments travelling under the same waybill number at the same time. Our shipping partners are working hard to eliminate these occurrences. In the meantime, please be assured that while this information may be confusing, your physical shipment will be heading to its correct destination and receiving the same careful attention as every other shipment in our network.
Since we partner with different international couriers to offer global shipping service, if you have withstanding duties or customs taxes to be paid or any paperwork to be submitted to DHL, you’ll likely be required to contact them for further precedence.
You’ll likely see this altered address information on your tracking page if the shipper has requested to modify the shipment’s destination address.
Your shipments are digitally signed by the receiver and can be easily found on the portal of the courier partner.
Yes, you can track 30 shipments simultaneously with DHL to get overall information on all your valuable shipments. Please refer to your local DHL website to determine if DHL ProView is available in your country. While not available globally right now, it will be available in all countries in the near future.
This status provides an indication of the customs clearance process from the destination. Please click on the "Show details" button to view additional information. This allows you to see if there is additional information required by customs for clearance.
The prices advertised on websites often do not include duty or tax. This can make products appear cheaper when compared to the local prices. So be aware and watch out for any additional charges at the time of import.
Duty and tax are dependent on the Harmonized System (HS) code and the country of origin. Generally, tax is a percentage of the value of the goods with designated goods rated zero in some countries/territories. In general, calculations are based on the goods description provided on the commercial invoice and its HS code. However, other factors such as origin and reason for import may contribute to the overall value and percentage of duty and tax applied. Some commodities are subject to other charges such as excise duty, which is an additional tax based on quantity and applies to goods like alcohol, tobacco and oil. Goods subject to trade defence measures and other restrictions may also incur extra charges.
You can easily make payments for duties and taxes online through our secure and convenient payment tool. Simply visit here and follow the steps by entering your tracking number to make a payment.
Duty is calculated against the value of the shipment contents declared on the commercial invoice together with any insurance and transportation costs. Together these are known as the Customs Value. This value is then multiplied by the duty percentage of the HS code assigned to the goods.
FedEx Global Trade Manager and the Document Preparation Center provide a one-stop resource for international shipping information, including how to calculate estimated Duties and Taxes. Estimated Duties and Taxes are based on invoice value, customs valuation & Incoterms® as per local customs rules.
FedEx can pay the duty and tax charges on your behalf to ensure delivery of your shipment as quickly as possible. As part of our ancillary charges, the service incurs an administration fee, also known as a Disbursement Fee / Advancement Fee / Duty Handling Fee. Please visit the ancillary clearance service fees page to learn more about charges at the destination country/territory.
Generally, there are two options to pay the authorities. The first option is for the receiver to pay the authorities directly for any duties and tax, usually due at the time of import. Payment can be deferred or postponed in some countries/territories depending on the import country/territory revenue procedure or declaration type. Duty tax must be paid at the time of import to the authorities except for special procedures authorised by customs. The second option is for FedEx to pay the duty and tax to the authorities on behalf of the receiver. We then invoice the receiver for this payment including an advancement / disbursement / handling service fee.
